As a fitting end to Women’s History Month, GSV Writers present Lynne Leonhardt and her novel Step Up, Mrs Dugdale. A biographical novel about her great-great grand aunt, leading Australian suffragist, Henrietta Augusta Dugdale, Step up, Mrs Dugdale is an unforgettable portrait of a pioneering suffragist who founded Australia’s first women’s suffrage.
Lynne will speak about crafting a book on the basis of family memorabilia and personal research. Her presentation will also provide insight into the too-little known history of a fearless Victorian woman and of Port Phillip Bay and Melbourne at the height of the gold-rush boom.
Lynne Leonhardt is a much travelled author who earned a prize winning PhD in Writing from Edith Cowan University.
