Temporary closure of GSV's premises

In view of the current Covid-19 situation, with very large case numbers and a Code-Brown alert for the hospital system, the GSV Library & Research Centre (10 Queen St) will be temporarily closed from 4:00pm on Friday, 21 January 2022.

The current Omicron wave is expected to peak during February and, subject to reassessing the position, we are planning to reopen on 1 March 2022.  This temporary closure is necessary to protect the health and well-being of our staff, volunteers, members and visitors.

Our staff and many volunteers will be working from home during the closure and we will continue to provide most of our services.  All our Education events and Discussion Circles will continue via Zoom (many of these are recorded and will be available as Webcasts through the Members Area of GSV's website) and we'll assist you with your queries through our 'Members help Members' and Quick Look-up services.  Our Paid Research Services will also continue and members still have home access to the commercial databases and records of TheGenealogist and My Heritage.

If you need to contact us during the closure, please use our email - gsv@gsv.org.au - and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Please look after each other, try to stay well and we look forward to seeing you again once we reopen.

Kind regards

Stephen Hawke
President
