Linley Hooper is the part-time Research Library Manager of the GSV. When she worked in the Fryer Memorial Library at Queensland University, with an Australiana and early settler history focus, the seeds were sown for Linley’s investigation of her own family history. She joined the GSV in 1979 as a library volunteer and served on Council 1983 -1987 then joined the staff. Linley maintains the collection, supervises the collection maintenance team and oversees the volunteer Research Assistants. In 2000 she introduced the library’s online catalogue and databases. You will see her regular contributions to Ancestor on library and research news. Linley presents talks each month on some of the major computer based resources. Her personal family research interests include the British Isles, Âwhere she continues to make breakthroughs even after 40 years. She holds a Fellowship of the Society, its highest honour.
